What Is Organic Fertilizer and How Does It Work?

Many fertilizers, like the food industry, do a poor job of describing “organic” on their labels. Traditionally, the term “organic” referred to how the fertilizer was produced, and had little to do with the presence of preservatives or pesticides (such as in food). Organic fertilizer is created through natural decomposition. The result of plant and animal excrement left to compost on their own without human assistance is a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer.
